If not, manually check your device in the Settings. Once in-game, it should automatically read that you have an xbox 360 controller connected. When you open up the game, you'll have to click Play and let it run. That's what I used so the program that runs the xbox 360 controller through the computer can recognize it. (make sure you're the first player) In order for the computer to recognize your DS3 controller as an Xbox 360 controller, I'm sure you know of good ol' Motioninjoy. Once installed, check your "Microsoft Xbox 360 Accessories Status" in your windows button to enable the 360 controller throughout the computer. There's also an option for bluetooth but I personally use USB so I didn't have any run-ins on that. The key instruction that I noted was to make sure to click "Force Install" when you load the driver to install. I used this guide to help me fix this problem, I hope it does you good as well. If anyone knows a way to get fallout to let me select the option to use a controller or somehow use a mod or edit the game to make it so i can just scroll through the dialogue menus and pip boy menus and not have to move this mouse cursor around it would be greatly apreciated. Im going to continue researching this issue and see if i can find another way to emulate the controller. I decided to try using the Motioninjoy DS3 tool because i read that it could emulate the ps3 controller and make it appear as a xbox360 controller, but after installing the software i have discovered that it does not show up in the programs device manager secton so i cannot install the driver for the software to use. Ive been using the scarlet ps3 drives (Scpdriver.exe) and have had the ms xbox 360 accessories installed for awhile now to. I know its not showing because the game only recognizes xbox360 controllers or those using the drivers for xbox360. if the game lets you select a controller in the options this removes to need to move the mouse and select the options and instead you can just scroll through the dialogue options and other menus (again i can move cursor with the controller because i mapped it to the mouse) Im using a rockcandy Ps3 wired controller, funny thing is i can play the game with it using Joytokey to map it to the keyboard and mouse inputs but while playing i have to move the mouse to select dialogue options, or select items in my pip boy, etc. Okay so im trying to get fallout 3 GOTY to show the option to select xbox360 controller, as of now the option does not come up at all in the settings.
